Project Overview:

Grit Wine Co. is a start-up, woman-owned
company located in the Pacific Northwest.

Some of the best wine comes from grapes that have struggled in harsh climates, but are resilient nonetheless. Not only is this the inspiration behind the company name, but it is also a metaphor for the careers of the Vintners behind this brand.

The company needed a logo to represent the casual nature of their hands-on wine-making approach, with the refinement of a proper glass of wine in its most honest form.

Logo Concepts

Logotype Refinement:

While the wordmark was inspired by Baroney's Textured typeface, it is the attention to detail of each typographic element that elevates these letterforms into a sophisticated and customized logotype.

It's about the details.

Final Logo:

Nature's tenacity is captured in the final logo symbol, where a budding vine has broken through the brand's monogram. In spite of the challenges of its environment, its growth persists.
